Last November 26, more than 100 reproductive health advocates gathered at the very first Excommunication Party in the Philippines, held in support of the passage of the Reproductive Health Bill and the legislators under fire from the Catholic Church.
During the event, participants signed the Manifesto in Support of Choice to call upon the CBCP to stop imposing its will on the state, to respect the rights and freedom of choice of all women in the Philippines, and to demonstrate our resolve to see the passage of the bill despite the threat of excommunication from the Catholic church.
Now, you can make a stand for choice as well. We have created an online version of the Manifesto in Support of Choice that you can sign. The form is available here: http://www.ipetitions.com/petition/excommunicateme/
We will submit this to the CBCP and to our legislators, in order to demonstrate our resolve to see the passage of the Reproductive Health Bill into law, despite the bullying of the Catholic hierarchy.
It is about time to stop the church from meddling the state affair…we the people in the philippine are the only one who allow the church to interfere with the state affair..The days of the friars are gone we are on the 21st century now .it is about time to move on and be practical in life…
