In this episode we recap what happened at the public hearing on the Ayala Alabang Village Ordinance that, among other things, required prescriptions for contraceptives — even condoms.
We talk about how the ordinance was created, what the anti-ordinance advocates are doing to stop it, and what we’re going to do next, given recent developments and all that’s happened at today’s hearing.
Episode 4! We took an unexpected break from the schedule but now we’re back! In this episode we talk about Sanctuario de San Jose making communion conditional for catholic supporters of the RH bill while making a small detour into Nita Negrita.
A new host appears! In this episode, we talk about Archbishop Rosales bemoaning the decay of society and blaming Hollywood; the Responsible Parenthood bill and its possible ramifications and the Vatican angling for Anglicans.
Second episode of the Podcast, now with better lighting! In this episode we talk about the Black Nazarene, Power Balance, works of fiction and the secular movement in Pakistan.
Well folks, 2010 has been a great year for the Filipino Freethinkers and now we’re on the cusp of another great year to look forward to! Before the year is over though, we thought we’d try something new: vodcasts!
After luring Red and meetup regulars Frank, Margie and Dustin with promises of cake we sat them down on a couch and got them talking about their favorite FF memories of 2010 as well as what they’re looking forward to in the new year for the Filipino Freethinkers.
We’d like to do more vodcasts in the future, perhaps as a monthly thing. As this is our first vodcast, its still a little raw around the edges so we’d like to hear your feedback.
Well, the Lord works in mysterious ways. Dean never arrived, so I had the whole show to talk not only about the Black Nazarene — which I don’t know much of anyway — but atheism and freethinking in general.
But on second thought I didn’t get the entire hour. When I was about to say something particularly blasphemous, God cut the power.
Still it’s the second longest broadcast of blasphemy in Philippine radio. (Second to John Paraiso’s old radio show, of course ) Enjoy!
(Thanks so much to Gang Badoy for allowing me to post this.)
Filipino Freethinkers Mike Aquino, Tania Arpa, and Ryan Tani with Carlos Celdran of Rational Hero talk about the RH Bill, secularism, and the sins of the Catholic Church in a RockEd Radio episode hosted by Gang Badoy.
As promised, here’s a bunch of blasphemous nonbelievers. Blasphemy Day’s still two weeks away, but as Benj said, let every day be Blasphemy Day. Freethinkers, blaspheme away!
Yesterday, we celebrated the National Day of Reason (as declared by Geri) by having a meetup, and the second most fun thing we did was do a podcast on Blasphemy Day. The first? We played a Blasphemy Game, which I’ll upload soon. Till then, hope you enjoy this one!
I could begin with a lot of caveats, disclaimers, and excuses. But instead, I’ll make an appeal to all you skeptics: For a few minutes, please turn off your bullshit detectors, turn on your faith generators, and enjoy the first episode of the Filipino Freethinkers Fodcast
