Rage Against the CBCP (Flashmob/Rally to support RH)

Filipino Freethinkers, Carlos Celdran, Bagong Pepe and a few others will be in front of San Agustin Church at 11am tomorrow Friday Oct 1 to do a FLASHMOB PHOTO OP in front of the CBCP. It will be fun and it won’t take long. Wear anything!

This is a counter movement against the CBCP threatening the government with civil disobedience for daring to take care of their citizens. This is a stand against dogmatic “morals” with horrible consequences. This is to show the vocal minority who stand against the reproductive health bills that the other 80% of the country want RH reforms NOW!

Where: San Agustin church, Intramuros, Manila. In front of the CBCP. (map)

When: Friday, October 1, 11 AM (come at 1030!)

  1. If you truly care about the RH bill, I would humbly suggest that you rally in front of either the GSIS building or Malacanang. It is the Legislative and Executive bodies of the government that will ultimately decide whether or not the bill will be passed. And if you want to show that you are better than the people that you deride, make sure that you get the proper permits to rally as well, to show that you are being responsible citizens.

  2. in some rally i saw some priest burning effigies and pictures of some politicians… if there will be a civil disobedience against the church… how about burning pictures and effigies saints and gods.. lol..lol..

  3. How about civil disobedience against the church…. when will it be…. how about Filipino freethinker meet-up in Manila Cathedral for condom distribution… ill be a part of it and ill bring 100 condoms for donation….

    • So is threatening to excommunicate the president for trying to serve his people.

Want to know what else is "kabastusan"? Pretending that your religious organization speaks for the people, when in fact all it's worried about is covering its own arse.

Besides, Celdran already apologized for his method of delivery.

    • Do not tell me about "inappropriate," or "kabastusan." The sense of propriety that people associate with a church is based on a centuries-old irrational superstition. The church is an institution, just like a city hall or a school, and Celdran is only right to protest his advocacy in a place where people will finally listen.

You obviously have a very lopsided sense of what "kabastusan" is. How about threats of excommunication and civil disobedience in order to smother the people's right to choose? How about pedophilia and abuse by "holy" men whose sermon you listen to every Sunday? I can go on and on, but I guess by now you are able to get my point.

    • oh my?… respect?… magaling lng silang magtago ng kasalanan nila…
bakit di nila ilabas yung mga paring nang abuso ng bata?..

  4. @myke

    A contradiction there, dude 🙁

Ryan earlier was careful enough to point out that fascism in essence is against religion

    • @ twin-skies

not really. the idea of clerico-fascism, though rejected by some scholars is still useful to describe specific political currents and movements that combine elements of fascism with religion. If you want to learn more about this phenomenon, try Francoist Spain.

If in essence you mean Italian Fascism originally, as well as those practiced by the Falange, then i would agree. But historically the religious power centers and the fascists have so much in common that they usually join forces at some point to destroy the commies, liberals, and anarchists.
