Tomorrow, August 24, is the final day you and your friends can vote for us at the Globe [email protected] Awards!
The past two weeks, it’s been a close call for both “The One” and “The Advocate” categories, and we need that one, final push to cinch our spot at the top of the polls.
If you have yet to vote, please go to the[email protected] Awards site and vote for us under both “The One” and “The Advocate” categories. We need serious help for both, and all it takes is a few measly mouse clicks. If your friends have yet to vote, physically carry them to a computer and tell them to vote. Worst case scenario, use a pulley.
Winning the awards would be a tremendous thing not only for the members of our organization, but for the state of reason, science, and secularism in the Philippines. We have so many things in store for you all in the near future, and bagging the top prizes will most definitely ensure that our plans come to fruition.
We have only five days left ’til the end of the Globe [email protected] Awards voting period! And thanks to your awesomeness, the Filipino Freethinkers are leading in both their categories (i.e. “The Advocate” and “The One”)!
As of this writing, we are totally owning “The Advocate,” with approximately 950 votes more than the second placer. In “The One” category, however, it’s been nail-bitingly close from the beginning, with only a handful of votes between us and fashion blogger Laureen Uy. We’re more or less a hundred paltry votes ahead of her, and while we’re sure that the beading on her dress is very pretty, it’s frankly too close for comfort. WE NEED MORE VOTES, GUYS! If we win both categories, that’s 200,000 pesosesoses that will go to our many projects lined up for reason, science, and secularism.
In light of all this, we have a very special surprise coming up very, very soon — something that quite literally exhibits our thrust to grow and improve as an organization. To help you figure out what this surprise is, we’ve created a special quatrain a la Nostradamus, legendary bullshitter/bad poet/is-there-a-difference. Many Freethinkers have already been exposed to one BS verse after another, and can see why people interpret these lines the way they do. Can you figure out what this one says? Rest assured that this prediction, unlike everything else predicted by people in robes and funny hats, will come true.
The many thoughts, they have been freed, and rightfully so
In the isles of Philip and beyond , through a gossamer web wrapped across the world.
Yet a new face lays in wait, one cleaner and purer and a salve upon our eyes.
It shall arrive on the morrow, and they who think shall rejoice.

…a person or a group of individuals who worked to improve the state of a societal cause in the Philippines through social media. This person or group invested time and effort (and sometimes even money) for the betterment of other people’s lives.
The One is
…the most influential trendsetter that shaped opinion, moved people, and ultimately starting fire in Philippine internet. This person is ahead of the pack in terms of online popularity and content.
The One is the top category of the lot, a.k.a. Best Overall, so it’s an especially awesome honor to be nominated. Moreover, the winner of each category will get a staggering Php100,000. If the Freethinkers bag both categories, that’s Php200,000 that will go to furthering reason, science, and secularism in order to vastly improve every Filipino’s quality of life. That’s a lot of bishop costumes, guys.
Here’s the clincher: 10% of our scores will be coming from YOUR VOTES, which will be collected from August 10 up until August 24. Here’s what we need you to do:
To vote, you’ll need a Facebook account, and you can help us out there too! 20% of our scores will depend on our online popularity (i.e. number of fans, followers, subscribers, views, mentions, visitors), so liking us on Facebook, following us on Twitter, etc., and telling your friends to do the same will make a world of difference.
