On September 30, Carlos Celdran took a stand against the CBCP’s meddling in our secular nation. Dressed as Jose Rizal, Carlos Celdran strode into Manila Cathedral during an ecumenical meeting and told the Roman Catholic clergy off for meddling with politics in the Philippines.
For his courage and passion, the Roman Catholic heirarchy charged Carlos Celdran with an archaic law that goes against the principle of separation of church and state. As secularists, as people who wish to reestablish the wall of separation between church and state, we now ask you to stand beside Carlos Celdran as he faces his legal battle with the CBCP.
On Tuesday, December 7, Carlos Celdran’s trial begins at Manila City Hall. Please assemble at SM City Manila Starbucks at 12PM, where Carlos will be meeting with his supporters. Celdran’s trial begins at 1PM so we will be moving to Manila City Hall (just across SM City) around that time.
