Essay Writing Contest – Second round of voting

Okay, so last meet-up it was brought to my attention that members did not realize that they had 15 votes to give away for this contest, which would probably explain the low vote count.

So, due to popular demand, voting has been reopened for a second round. Note that the votes made during the first round still count, and you’re still allowed to vote for a particular post just once. (But you can vote for up to 15 posts!)

Fifteen, if you didn’t catch that. 15. Labinlima. Quince. 十五. 열다섯. δεκαπέντε. חמשעסר.

As usual, you can find the list of entries here. The Vote link can be found in the author box at the bottom of each post. The time limit this time is two weeks, to give everyone enough time to read through everything.

On a separate note, what do you think our next contest should be?

aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah you need to log in. well i voted as much as i can from memory the pieces that i liked. does the system stop a voter once he reaches 15? i hope i remember how many i voted now.

    • frank says:

Nope, it doesn't stop on its own. It's up to you to count your votes. If you're not sure about your vote count, forget about it, just don't go vote-crazy, or else all your votes will cancel each other out. =)

I think that is the problem. I am not logged in.. where do I log in? In the forum? It seems my name and email is always saved here when I comment.

    • frank says:

There should be a login link on the right side of this and every page, under "Community", above the picture of the latest visitors. see : http://filipinofreethinkers.org/forum/viewtopic.p

I thought that was Facebook related! Hahaha maybe voting has an IQ requirement and I just failed it. Gah.

Ah, I think that's the source of confusion for most people trying to navigate site. Either people think na single sign-on sya, when you're logged in sa forums, you use the same account din sa main page, which isn't the case. Or can't find the actual log screen. Usually nasa navi-bar or sa upper left or upper right corner yung login for most standard layouts. Or to make it more obvious, naka-display outright na lang yung name/password text fields instead of going through a hyperlink?

  4. wes says:

Frank, maybe it would help if you put a bit of screenshots on how to log on and where to find to Vote button? I think majority of the site visitors don't even login since the site allows anonymous commenting

  5. sinisterspark says:

Ok. I tried it on windows firefox, mac firefox, office computer, safari, internet explorer.. it does not show up. I know it's supposed to be below the bar under the name of the writer but it really doesn't show up for me. Cleared my cache already several times. Is it just me?

  6. frank says:

It SHOULD appear on all browsers. I don't think there's anything that's browser-specific. If clearing your cache doesn't work and it still doesn't work no matter what you do, leave a message and maybe the more techie guys here can give you a hand.

  7. frank says:

As Wes mentioned, try Justin's account on your browser. Also, try your account on Justin's browser. From this we can determine if the problem's with your account, or if you're just cursed.

As a note, only logged in users should see the Vote link.

  8. wes says:

works fine on my windows firefox browser. have you tried logging on using Justin's WP account using the same computer?

  9. frank says:

Have you tried refreshing your page or clearing your browser cache?

  10. sinisterspark says:

The vote button does not show up in my Firefox! Weird… Chineck ko na kay Justin, sa kanya lumalabas :(

  11. Igme says:

Does it appear in specific browsers only?
