Like she said, she wishes to have something to devote herself to, to the point of neglecting convenience. Maybe she should try having a child or getting a pet? I think atheism cannot be a good solution to people like the devotees of the Black Nazarene who have little to cling to. They have that psychological need to hope for miracles and the luxury of atheism cannot help that.
