FF Essay Writing Contest Winners

Congratulations Igme, on winning our first ever Essay Writing Contest!

For those who were unable to attend the last meet-up, Igme was awarded for his article Children’s Choice. The decision was reached after factoring in the votes garnered, the original contest criteria and the fact that it was an actual essay (sorry, poets).

The prize, Dawkins’ The Greatest Show On Earth – The Evidence For Evolution, was awarded last Sunday, the 10th of January, in the year of His Noodliness, two thousand and ten.

Also handed out last Sunday was a surprise prize, for most valuable blogger, awarded to PinoyAtheist with 42 (forty two?!) posts! The purpose of this contest was to get members writing more about what it means to be a Filipino Freethinker, and for well after the contest period ended, John has been consistently writing about just that.

Two prizes awarded, two winners well deserved, one contest finally over. We can now start work on a second contest, in time for the first year anniversary of FF.

What contest would you join? What prize would you like to win?

    • Guess what, fuckwit… We don't care if you like our contests or not.

And before you condemn us to your personal Hell, show us proof that your Imaginary friends exist first. Otherwise, everything coming from you will be deemed as complete Bullshit.

      • are you always this angry and intolerant? i'd think if you want to convince people to see your POV, your non belief, disbelief, or to change their belief, you don't start by calling them fuckwits. pre-empting your supposed condemnation? defensive much .ROFL try growing up first. you could practice some restraint with your post.

  1. So when's the next contest? ;D Suggested genres: essays for children, poetry for children, short stories for children. Pangontra ba sa mga itinuturo sa eskwela. We badly need these.

  2. Congrats, Igme! Now I will read the said entry because it seems I haven't read that before…

Since I like poems and stories, I would suggest the theme for the next contest to be poems and/or stories hehe. If I couldn't join (due to lack of inspiration or what), I'd probably enjoy reading the entries XD

I posted like 3 poems when the contest was ongoing, but I didn't realize they were valid for the contest hahaha (yet somehow they ended up in the list). I was trying to come up with some article or essay but I just ended up reading lots of them instead.

  3. Thanks Sathepine. I was praying 🙂 for Red and his article on Religion and a country's well being (sorry forgot the title). That really hit the mark for me being always annoyed how this country takes pride in being christian and is really going nowhere!

A congratulations to PinoyAtheist for being such a work horse. Having trouble with the my school assignments as it is. Actually I'm trying to do one now, hehehe. So catch you later.

    Thanks everyone. 🙂
