Why, there's sex (Sodom and Gomorrah) , there's action (David and Goliath), there's fantasy (Jonah and the whale, creation myth, parting of the Red sea), there's thrill and horror (Revelations). I think it's quite an adult book as much as it is for kids fond of literature. I'm sure it's not that well written though, but who doesn't like a book with all those things, plus with profanity, and still claim to be the work of God? :) I somehow disagree at some level to the opinion that the Bible is boring.
